Toothbrush on its Last Legs

my squeaky clean teethSo yet again I get up in the morning and I dont know about you but until I have brushed my teeth I dont feel truly awake.  Now I have currently got a basic electric toothbrush that I have had for a couple of years.  I must quickly add that even though I have had it for a couple of years I do change the head regularly not waiting until there is a distinct lack of bristles.

The thing is over the last couple of weeks I have had to recharge the brush more regularly, to the point this morning that after putting the brush on charge yesterday halfway through cleaning my teeth this morning it started to run down.  Now I am the first to admit that I am not a morning person so for this to happen really put my day off to a bad start and am determined not to suffer this again.

To this end I am going to spend the next couple of days Googling about the different brushes available and their features etc.  The reason behind this was at lunchtime today I popped into the local Boots store to look at the toothbrushes available and could not believe the variety and the price.  What sort of person spends over £200 which equates to around $240 on a toothbrush, I did have a quick look around and couldn’t see any footballers shopping nearby so am pretty sure they wont be running out of that one soon.

I was also totally confused by some of the terms like oscillation, rotating, variable speeds, Bluetooth and iOS compatible why would I want to connect my toothbrush via Bluetooth to my iPhone, totally bonkers.

Any way lets see what my investigations over the next couple of days come out with, am pretty sure that when I start looking at toothbrushes I will get led down the path of toothpastes, whitening kits and flossing picks but if it improves the condition of my teeth then that can only be a good thing.
